Program Process
Here's your step-by-step guide for becoming a certified Green School®!
1. Online Registration Schools from all over the Middle East and North Africa region may register in the program. Click here to register. |
2. Online Self-Assessment Session
Once your registration is complete, our team will contact you to book an online Self-Assessment session. During this session, we will explain to you the different measures that your school can implement in order to become engaged in a true sustainability strategy and become a certified Green School. The measures extend over the building, administration & staff, and students engagement levels. We will review the measures that are possibly already implemented at your school to understand your school’s position in the certification scale, and we will recommend the further possible sustainability solutions that your school may implement in order to achieve the highest possible level of certification. Following this session, we will issue your first assessment report that you can use as a roadmap for achieving your sustainability solutions. The report will also provide your preliminary certification score, and the potential score that you can further achieve. |
4. Technical Audit When you are ready, our team will visit your school to perform the technical audit where we will review and validate your implemented solutions, and collect supporting documents. We will then issue your final assessment report along your achieved certification score. Currently and until further notice, the school audits are being performed remotely for safety reasons. |
5. Certification! The moment of glory! All Green Schools® will be announced and awarded their certifications before the end of each school year. Following to the receipt of your Green Schools® Certification, your school will still be able to pursue a higher level of certification whenever more environmental solutions are implemented. Green Schools® Certifications are valid for two years, after which a renewal of participation and a second audit will be required for maintaining or upscaling the certification level. |
