Schools will additionally get aligned with the Green School Quality Standard by the Greening Education Partnership (GEP)
Green Schools® is the most comprehensive green schools certification program in the MENA region, initiated with a mission to "put every student in the region in a Green School within this generation". The program guides the schools into achieving a true sustainability engagement on 3 main levels:
Green Schools® is based on international Green standards such as LEED. It also encompasses the main standards adopted in the MENA region.
Program Categories
All public and private schools in the MENA region are invited to participate in the Green Schools® Certification Program in order to assess, improve, and announce their level of school sustainability.
Each school will score Green Points (GPs) based on a clear checklist of sustainability solutions within 6 categories:
